Olli is joining the company from ÅF Pöyry Management Consulting where he has served as the Director of the Energy Business in Finland.

“Under Olli’s leadership, Gasgrid Finland will evolve into a transparent, open and market-driven company. Olli’s experience and modern approach to leadership create an excellent foundation for Gasgrid Finland to integrate into the European gas community and in close cooperation to develop the market together with Finnish, Baltic and European stakeholders,” says Kai-Petteri Purhonen, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Finnish Gas Transmission Services.

In addition to his current position as Director, Olli Sipilä has managed ÅF Pöyry Management Consulting’s office in Finland as well as strategy and transaction services for the energy sector in the Baltic Sea region. Olli has additionally been involved in developing new digital services and solutions. His background also includes positions with Deloitte and ABB.

“The gas transmission infrastructure and market are an important part of the system formed by the energy sector, industries and traffic and its efficient and rapid transformation into carbon neutrality. I want to participate in developing a customer-oriented, open, competitive and reliable gas transmission infrastructure and market in Finland and neighbouring regions. The cooperation within the gas sector and between different energy and other sectors opens a lot of opportunities. I’m looking forward to August when we will get to drive these matters forward together with my new team, stakeholders and the entire industry, with initial focus on the opening of the Finnish gas market at the start of 2020,” says Olli Sipilä.
